The Union and its Territory

                   THE CONTITUTION OF INDIA

                                        PART - 1

1. Name and territory of a Union. -

(1) India, that is Bharat , shall be a Union of States .
(2) The State and the territories thete of shall be as specified in the schedule.
(3) The territory of India shall comprise-
 (a) the territories of the state ;
 (b) the Union territories specified in the First Schedule; and

(c) such other territories as may be acquired .

2.Adminisson or establishment of new States. -

Parliament may be by law admit in to the Union , or establish , new State on such terms and condition as it thinks fit.
